Development Executive
We're looking for a proactive and ambitious Development Executive to join our team and play a key role in driving revenue growth across our PC & PL business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-focused sales professional who thrives on identifying new opportunities, building strong networks, and converting prospects into long-term clients. You'll represent the business externally, attend networking events, develop referral partnerships, and work closely with colleagues to deliver sustainable new business growth.

What You'll Be Doing?
As a Development Executive, you'll be responsible for generating and converting new business opportunities while delivering an exceptional customer journey throughout the sales process.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients through targeted sales campaigns, referrals, networking, and business development activities.
Re-engaging lapsed and cancelled clients to identify new opportunities and support revenue growth.
Working closely with Commercial, PC & PL teams to maximise referral opportunities and conversion rates.
Developing relationships with insurer panels to better understand market appetite and align client opportunities accordingly.
Acting as the first point of contact for new clients and managing their insurance requirements efficiently and accurately.
Maintaining regular communication with prospective clients throughout the sales cycle, from initial engagement through to successful placement.
Researching, attending, and leveraging networking events to generate new business opportunities.
Developing and supporting branch networking and event plans.
Identifying emerging market trends and business opportunities to support commercial growth strategies.
Ensuring all client information is accurately recorded and maintained in line with regulatory and operational requirements.
Delivering Outstanding Client Experience
You'll play a vital role in ensuring clients receive a professional, responsive, and tailored service by:
Understanding client needs and recommending suitable solutions.
Building long-term relationships based on trust and service excellence.
Managing client concerns promptly and effectively.
Gathering and acting upon customer feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
Supporting Consumer Duty principles and always putting customer outcomes first.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
Success in this role requires strong collaboration and relationship-building skills. You'll:
Build relationships with key decision-makers, partners, and stakeholders.
Work closely with internal teams to develop client-focused solutions.
Share market insights, opportunities, and best practices across the business.
Keep stakeholders informed with clear communication and regular updates.
Support colleagues and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
Compliance & Risk Management
You'll be expected to:
Adhere to FCA regulations, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, and all company policies.
Promote ethical and professional sales practices.
Maintain accurate records and ensure data is handled in accordance with GDPR requirements.
Identify and appropriately manage risks associated with sales activities and client interactions.
Champion governance, compliance, and customer-focused behaviours across all activities.
About You
We're looking for someone who can confidently build relationships, create opportunities, and deliver results.
You'll ideally have:
A proven track record within sales, business development, or client acquisition.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Confidence communicating with new clients both face-to-face and over the phone.
The ability to manage a pipeline effectively and prioritise competing demands.
Experience working with stakeholders across multiple levels.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong commercial awareness.
Knowledge of current market and business development trends.
Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and administrative skills.
A creative and innovative approach to winning new business.
Experience within insurance, financial services, or a regulated environment would be advantageous.
