Regional Director
The Regional Director role will form an integral part of the Relationship Broking Divisional Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Divisional Managing Director. As a Regional Director you will be accountable for circa 70-150 people and be responsible for the creation of the regional strategy, delivery of the P&L budget and management of distributed business within your Region of Yorkshire and the Northwest England, to drive new business and retention and delivery against income and expenditure targets.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this role is providing strong, effective leadership of the Region, delivering the regional strategy linked to the overall divisional strategy, P&L and wider objectives through the team.
By comparison only a small portion of time will be spent on the direct management of clients and associated income.
Support the redesign and integration of all trading resources into one singular structure, creating an effective workforce with clearly identifiable career pathways with key performance indicators.
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of trading in line with budgets, and constantly reviewing the market and relevant sectors to understand new opportunities, performance against competitors in the market, identify challenges and threats from external competition and maintain key internal relationships with Everywhen stakeholders.
Lead and drive the team to deliver the best customer outcomes meeting all Consumer Duty requirements whilst working collaboratively with your Regional Director peers to achieve financial targets for both your region and the whole Relationship Broking business.
Lead and role model all aspects of risk management, implementing plans which ensures every colleague meets risk and, where applicable quality assurance requirements ensuring effective monitoring which highlights trends to enable actions and mitigations to be put into place.
Work in collaboration with Central Functions including Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR, Compliance and Property to deliver the best service across the Region with a holistic view of all functions and their impact on the Region and its ability to deliver its strategy and objectives.
Accountable for the Regional Operations and optimal customer journey - balancing customer satisfaction and technical standards; implementing solutions, optimising resources and managing workflow; driving standardisation and continuous improvement in the Region, tracked and monitored by meaningful MI
What experience do you need to have:
Proven track record of managing other senior leaders and multiple teams to deliver a forward-thinking strategy to deliver revenue targets within a regulatory framework.
Demonstrable experience in Senior Leadership roles within insurance and extensive knowledge of the insurance industry specifically placement and insurer relationships.
Proven track record of delivering both top and bottom-line performance and growth, organically and inorganically.
Proven track record of improving business performance, income and employee engagement within a regulated environment through effective sales planning.
Strong leadership and communication skills across a scaled and multiple site UK brokerage.
Significant, proven experience of managing a multi-million P&L Budget.
A robust understanding of business processes and performance levers.
Strong commercial leader with a commercial focus and financial awareness, e.g. understanding of the external market, company performance, market intelligence, business drivers, etc.
Stakeholder management typically to Exco-1/ExC0-2 level and strong communicator, including negotiation, contracting, consultancy, facilitation, influencing, presentation and communication skills.
Working in environments which occasionally have ambiguity.
Risk management frameworks in a regulatory environment.
Experience of managing client relationships.
Ability to demonstrate leadership of driving new ideas and innovation.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with teams and stakeholders across the business at all levels.
