Management Accountant

We’re offering an exciting opportunity to become a key member of our Finance team, working closely with our Senior Management Accountant. This hybrid role blends autonomy with collaboration, giving you the chance to shape financial reporting, support strategic decision‑making, and grow your career in a supportive environment.
You’ll spend 2–3 days a week in our Bury St Edmunds office, with the flexibility to balance your work and life.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a central role in delivering accurate, insightful financial information that drives business performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, and commentary)
- Producing KPIs that bring clarity and insight to the numbers
- Managing journal entries, accruals, and prepayments with precision
- Explaining variances in revenue and expenditure to stakeholders
- Collaborating with Group finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Reconciling balance sheets and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Supporting year‑end audits and liaising with external auditors
- Supporting the commercial accountants and finance business partners with payroll/FTE analysis and budgets
- Ensuring compliance with FCA Handbook requirements
This is a role where your expertise will directly influence the success of the business.
Who we’re looking for
We want someone who brings both technical excellence and a proactive mindset. Ideally, you’ll have:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification (or be part‑qualified and close to completion) – QBE also considered
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (CASS experience a bonus)
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Broad experience across accounting functions, reporting, and data analysis
