This exciting hybrid opportunity has arisen to join a growing Finance team in Leeds ensuring client financial transactions relating to insurance broking are managed and recorded correctly. You will lead a transactional finance team in overseeing and managing client money processes and responsibilities, ensuring client money is transacted in a timely and correct manner across several disciplines. You will have line management of the team and manage financial escalations as well as process excellence.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all the following:
- Motivate, develop, and inspire your team to achieve personal and team goals whilst managing team workloads ensuring SLAs and quality standards are met.
- Take responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of transactions for our partners, suppliers, and clients.
- Be a key contact for related escalations, complaints and change requests.
- You will need to have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail whilst being adaptable to changing environments and priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
- Complete agreed procedures to ensure we remain compliant with client and insurer money rules as governed by the FCA.
- Liaise and build relationships with senior business leaders ensuring support for one another to maximise individual and team contributions.
- Oversee and support external audits and ensure that all balances are appropriately supported and closed in line with deliverables.
- Act as the first line of defence in identifying, recording, and investigating FCA breaches.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle and analyse large amounts of data.
- Confident in onboarding new starters including liaising with IT to ensure all systems and requirements are in place.
- Take the lead or be part of ongoing project and changes within the business to ensure this is communicated to the team in an affective and timely manner.
Qualifications and Experience
- Leadership experience essential from within an FCA regulated environment
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or equivalent and above).
- Excel to intermediate level.

Most crucially for any applicant is your communication skills across all mediums, use of analytical and investigative skills to solve problems and the ability to respond positively to change.
