Client Money Calculations Manager

Purpose of the Role
This exciting hybrid opportunity has arisen to join a growing Finance team in Leeds, where you will lead the Client Money Calculations (CMC) team and manage the CMC process, manage the KPIs and monthly reporting process ensuring accuracy and completed to deadlines.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all the following:
- Be responsible for the line management of CMC Analysts: Completion of recruitment, HR, training and appraisals processes.
- Conduct and document 1-1 account reviews with direct reports, set monthly targets, agree and review action plans.
- Develop, coach, support and motivate team members by identifying their strengths, development needs and training requirements in order to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Drive team and individual performance against business objectives providing necessary reporting on KPI’s.
- Oversee the Client Money Calculation & Insurer Money Calculation process ensuring all deadlines are met and the process is compliant with the client and insurer money rules within the FCA Handbook.
- Liaise with senior business leaders to factor in any necessary CMC adjustments.
- Oversee and support external audits and ensure that all balances are appropriately supported.
- Ensure any changes to the process are managed effectively, including but not limited to, new acquisitions and run off businesses / legal entities.
- Operate as a key contact for month end closures, month end reporting and legacy balance resolution, working alongside colleagues to ensure month ends are closed timely and accurately.
- Generate MI on a regular basis and articulate the outputs to key Stakeholders.
- Advise on CASS compliance across the membership, including breach identification and improvements process.
- Where applicable, investigate the root cause of non-compliance, breach identification and improvements process.
Qualifications and Experience
- Financial transactions operations and reporting essential.
- Leadership experience essential – this could be on a project or as a senior member of a team, not necessarily team leadership.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or equivalent and above).
- Excel to intermediate level.
- CMC/Reconciliations essential and CASS 5 experience preferred.
Most crucially for any applicant is your communication skills across all mediums, use of analytical and investigative skills to solve problems and clear attention to detail.
