Polaris Developer


We’re on the hunt for a Polaris Developer to join our team. We are looking for an experienced individual who will manage deployment of change through Business Analysis, project management and testing in a controlled environment. You will work in a fast paced and controlled change, development and deployment team providing support to internal partners through an agreed program of work.
What you will do as a Polaris Developer:
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
- Working closely with the Change & Operations Director and department leads to understand our strategic and financial priorities and using the annual development road map which will support the achievement of those strategic and financial objectives
- Ensuring that all activities are undertaken and delivered in accordance with the provisions of our pricing and underwriting plans, including the prioritization of activities and ad hoc requests.
- Ensuring the effective, accurate and on time deployment of market rates through all relevant channels including broker software houses, portals and internal rating engines.
- Liaise with 3rd party providers to ensure business critical procedure are adhered to.
- Work with underwriting teams on a regular basis to ensure that pricing, underwriting, endorsement, coverage, documentation and/or pricing changes are achieved as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure all aspects of pricing or scheme development or changes are tested accurately and efficiently to provide assurance that pricing which is being deployed is always consistent with the approved models.
- Understanding the risk environment in which we operate. Identifying and managing the key risks which threaten the success and sustainability of our business and having accountability for mitigating actions which protect our business against those risks
What are we looking for in our Polaris Developer:
Skills - Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Polaris Developer
- Digital deployment experience
- Commercial Lines experience
- Extensive knowledge of pricing model design and maintenance and in the platforms and applications, both internal and external, which are used to deploy pricing models for use
- Extensive knowledge of the software house quotation systems that will allow the business to use each system to its maximum potential whilst also reducing the risk of improper use.
- Interpersonal skills which will allow you to build and maintain value adding relationships. You must be able to articulate what a mutually beneficial relationship looks like and be comfortable having difficult conversations
- Have the ability to create and execute strategic project delivery plans
- To understand the fundamental requirements and benefits of automated testing and have the ability and knowledge to use modern IT tools and techniques.
- The confidence and ability to participate and perform through tight test cycles applicable within the change process
- Show clear thinking in approach to problem solving
- To manage multiple work packages at any one time
- Experience using testing tools such as F1 Premier Test

- Experience leading a team
- Business to Consumer experience
