HR Data and Analytics Senior Analyst

We’re looking for a forward-thinking HR Data and Analytics Senior Analyst to join our People & Culture team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and people strategy. You’ll be a key player in transforming raw data into strategic insights, creating value from our new HR systems, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities of the HR Data and Analytics Senior Analyst role
Data Storytelling & Strategic Insights
- Analyse complex People data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities using statistical techniques and visualisation tools.
- Build advanced Excel models using formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, VBA, and Macros.
- Create compelling PowerPoint presentations that translate data into clear, actionable narratives.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, Microsoft Access, and Excel to track KPIs and workforce health.
- Ensure consistent and accurate reporting of key HR and Workforce Planning metrics and identify the patterns and stories behind the data.
HR Systems & Technology
- Act as a subject matter expert for key HR systems, supporting enhancements and issue resolution, with a focus on user experience and scalability.
- Collaborate on system design and configuration to enable data accuracy, advanced reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging HR tech trends, including AI, automation, and cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with platforms such as Service Now and Dayforce (desirable).
Data Management & Governance
- Lead data governance efforts, including audits, data quality checks, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain master data models to ensure a single source of truth for HR processes.
- Ensure meticulous attention to detail in data handling to maintain accuracy, integrity, and risk identification.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and collaborate cross-functionally to streamline data flows.
Business Partnership & Collaboration
- Partner with HR colleagues to provide analytical support and insights.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate complex data insights clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels.
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced Excel skills: Strong command of formulas (e.g., INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS), Pivot Tables, Power Query, VBA, and Macros.
- Data analysis & reporting: Proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualisation, and reporting tools including SQL, Microsoft Access, and Power BI.
- HR analytics experience: 4+ years in HR tech or analytics roles, with a strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and HR processes.
- Technical agility: Quick to learn new systems and tools, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey insights and collaborate effectively.
- Attention to detail: High level of accuracy and integrity in data handling, with a focus on identifying risks.
- Confidentiality: Strong understanding of HR principles and best practices, with a commitment to handling sensitive data responsibly.
