Head of Digital Marketing & Trading

Purpose of the Role
This exciting remote based Head of Digital Marketing & Trading opportunity has arisen to lead our Digital Marketing efforts to drive Sales and Income. You will work alongside Trading Directors to build distribution and drive sales. As an integral part of the Digital Leadership team you will lead, support and provide challenge across the whole Digital team, beyond Digital Marketing.
This role will require someone with business acumen and commercial awareness to own the objectives to enhance sales and income by looking beyond “business as usual” to drive appetite and plans for major growth.
Whilst this is a home-based role, UK wide travel will be required as per business needs and for team meetings, and travel will be more frequent in the first 6 months of the role.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
- Create marketing vision, direction and strategy to the digital team and stakeholders to meet and exceed group growth targets.
- Lead the strategic development of the optimal Digital Marketing volume and mix.
- Agree targets with the business lines and clearly translate and communicate with team and agency to drive results: this will include lead volume, conversion rates and mix by channel.
- Reduce historical over reliance on PPC and SEO. Educate on different channels to build optimal mix – the channels must be integrated and work together to drive sales. This should include Mid Funnel and Above the Line Digital activity to support the Brand.
- Have a laser focus on numbers and results - daily, weekly forecasting and reporting of results.
- Build the right internal team and hire appropriate agencies to drive results.
- Build appropriate delivery capability and processes.
- Own conversion goal – work closely with UX lead and Head of Digital Experience to identify friction points and solutions to get most ROI for our marketing spend.
Who we are looking for
This is an opportunity for a highly experienced and technical Digital Marketing Leader with managerial experience, ideally from a financial services environment, who is willing to work as part of a team and manage stakeholders at all levels. We are looking for someone has:
- In-depth knowledge of digital knowledge of digital marketing channels: PPC, SEO, Aggregators, Affiliates, Paid Social, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques.
- Strong understanding of CRO
- Proficient using GA and Adwords to manage agency and team performance.
- Clear understanding of the shifting landscape and remedies associated with AI.
This is an opportunity for a subject matter “go-to” expert with strong interpersonal and management skills, a team player, who can guide others and lead by example. You will be highly organised, analytical, creative with a problem-solving mindset whilst being commercial minded and highly numerate. You will need to be flexible to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, complex and highly regulated corporate organisation.
